Teaching, Education & Training
Continuing
Medical Education I have achieved substantially more
than the number of CME points required in the last 5 year cycle
which has helped me introduce new technologies (hysteroscopy,
minimal access surgery, laser surgery, amniocentesis directed with
ultrasound etc) and changed working practices in the Trust.
Teaching
Undergraduates : clinical teacher,
University of Cambridge School of Medicine. Junior
doctors : tutorials and departmental educational talks, preparation
for DRCOG and MRCOG. Accident and Emergency : staff lecture
on gynaecological emergency admissions. Midwives : for many years I was a
midwifery lecturer and an examiner of the Central Midwives
Board. Invitation Lectures : National Osteoporosis
Society, GP forum. Special Departmental Lectures : episiotomy and vaginal
repair, HRT. Colposcopy : I am accredited as a
trainer by the BSCCP and have taught colposcopy to junior staff
and GPs for many years. Vaginal surgery : I have had many
visiting doctors from other centres who have come to learn how to
do vaginal hysterectomies without prolapse and other vaginal
surgery including paravaginal
repairs.
