BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCIL-EXTRACTS OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2006 AT 7.30pm IN THE VILLAGE HALL

 

PRESENT:   Councillor’s Hind, Mallen, Lilwall, Cockburn Swain, McColville and Wallace, Mr. G. Bambridge (DC).  12 parishioners

APOLOGIES:  Mrs. I. Floering-Blackman

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:  Agreed and signed

 

LAND AT FOLLAND COURT:  PA not yet received.  Councillors Hind and Mallen to check with Records Office NCC regarding Mrs. Folland’s covenant on this land.

 

PLANNING:

a) Eros, Billingford Road – PP granted for demolition of sub-standard property and erection of replacement dwelling and detached garage/carport.

b) Wood Farm, Reepham Road – new PA received for conversion of redundant farm buildings to two residential units appears to be exactly the same as the 1st PA except one unit has 6 bedrooms and the other 4 and no vintage vehicle storage building included.  PC felt that objections remain the same.

Clerk has written to Breckland as building work appears to have started.

c) Bawdeswell Garden Centre applied for change of use of greenhouses at back of premises to Aquatic/Pet centre opening March 06.

 

ANGLIAN WATER:  Parishioners in Hall Road experiencing problems with sewage/overflowing drains. Anglian Water state that drains not adopted and are the responsibility of Parishioners themselves.   Parishioners affected to write joint letter to Keith Simpson MP, Anglian Water and Breckland Environmental Health Dept. as sewage is a danger to public health- Bill Flynn agreed to do letter. Letters also to be sent from PC.

 

ANNUAL RETURN:    Audit Commission agreed and signed return for year 04/05.  Councillors given copy of proposed Budget for year 06/07 agreed at December PC meeting.

 

VILLAGE HALL:  Rate relief granted for next 3 years.  Hall is now a non-smoking venue.

David Cockburn is new booking clerk.   Small fire extinguisher taken from hall, new one installed (invoice received for £182.05!!.)  Will person responsible please return this item.

 

GRAFFITI cleaned from Hall windows and play equipment.

 

Councillor Swain has resigned as Village Handyman and the Chairman thanked him for all his hard work over the last year. 

 

DOG BINS – Serco empty every 8 weeks – Clerk to write asking for quicker service.

 

Bridges going across stream down Common Lane broken – Clerk to check who is responsible for repairs.
