BAWDESWELL PARISH COUNCIL

Extracts of meeting held on Monday 4th April at 7.30pm in the village hall

 

PRESENT:  Councillors Hind, Mallen, Lillwall, McColville, Swain, Cockburn and Wallace   Mr. G. Bambridge      5 parishioners

APOLOGIES; Clerk and Mrs. I. Floering Blackman (CC)

-          Adam Bradley of West Norfolk and Breckland Rural Transport attended the meeting to explain the role of the transport partnership and programmes they had in place.  The Council asked what was the chance of getting a regular bus service from Bawdeswell to Dereham and Adam is to talk to Konnect and report back.

Letter to be sent to Breckland about transport situation in Bawdeswell.

PLANNING:
- Jasmine House, Dereham Road– PA for change of use from garage to granny annex withdrawn but new PA for garage to holiday cottage – No objections

- 28 Hall Road - conservatory – No objections

-          Guestwick Wind Farm – rejected by Broadland Council

-          Fences on Norwich Road – no PA received – ask for removal of fences and the reinstatement of hedge at Tollgate Cottage

Paper Bank – Clerk contacted Zurich Insurance regarding Public Liability – it is not responsibility of PC for children climbing into Bank (note in Reeve’s Tale).  Lorry trying to empty Bank got stuck and was unable to collect paper – will try again.

-          New Contractor appointed for Breckland cleansing services dealing with fly tipping and street cleaning – Letter to Breckland pointing out black spot and litter picks in village and Dereham Road

-          Cars for Sale are still being parked on Highways Land opposite Garden Centre – land belongs to Highways and is for Garden Centre parking only. Use for sale of cars is illegal.

-          Dog Fouling in village street reported by parents - owner of large brown dog is not clearing up mess from Street and children arriving at school with fouled footwear.

-          Old Workhouse Bar - Reports of massive disturbances on previous weekend when half price drinks on sale – Chairman to talk to new Landlord about a reminder to customers to respect residents peace when leaving premises.

Heritage Group have now planted trees along the by-pass.

Village Road Safety – sub Committee to be set up.

Youth Parish Council – leaflet drop to pupils who catch bus to Reepham School.

Next meeting Monday 9th May at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall.   THIS WILL BE THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING FOLLOWED BY PARISH COUNCIL.
