Bawdeswell Activities Group (BAG)

The summer activities scheme has been a huge success and lots of fun.  A total of 360 children and 166 parents came along and joined in the organised events, as well as making use of the indoor and outdoor sports and games equipment.

A big ‘thank you’ goes to the 15 volunteers  for all their hard work.

We raised a significant amout of money for the scheme. There were two grant applications, both successfull to Breckland Council and Price Waterhouse Cooper through the Norfolk Community Foundation. Funds were raised from a quiz night plus donations from the Parish Council and residents.  Lots of toys, games and sports equipment have been purchased, including 5 a side football goals and a 3 in 1 games (pool) table.  A set of cricket nets will be put up once a location has been agreed.

The activities scheme will continue during future half term breaks, Easter and  summer school holidays.

The Group is looking for additional volunteers/event leaders to help with the scheme during 2008.   Please contact Janet on 688749.

Future Events

Following on from the summer activities BAG will be running a number of events during the autumn at the Village Hall.

ADULT BINGO AFTERNOONS every other Tuesday commencing 16th October from 2-5 pm.   Eyes Down at 2.15.  If you have difficulty getting to the hall transport can be arranged.    Call Janet on 688749.

HALF TERM AT THE HALL Monday October 22nd to Friday 26th  1.30 - 5.30pm.   Details are on a separate page in this issue.

DROP IN EVENT Tuesday 23rd October  7-9.30pm for teenagers

Pool, Snooker, Table Tennis, Darts, Bring your own CD’s

CHRISTMAS FAYRE  Saturday 27th October    11am - 3pm

MOTHER & TODDLER GROUP -  The BAG CAFE will be open from 9.30 to 11.30am every Friday during term time for the Mother and Toddler Group.
