Football:  Steven Williamson Memorial Trophy

Ten years on and bigger than ever; this year we raised £1,125 from our raffle, our quiz night and generous donations from this year’s winners Lyng utd and Great Witchingham Cricket Club.

The money always has been donated to the  Children’s Fund at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.  Many thanks to everyone who helped in various ways. See you all next year.

The Williamson Family.

Bawdeswell Post Office

We all owe an enormous debt of gratitude to Wendy for saving our Post Office when the garage moved and for keeping it going over the past few years. Most of us did not appreciate how difficult it had become over the past twelve months once the boiler had failed in the Folland Court building.

I would like to record the thanks of the Bawdeswell Parish Council to Wendy for her service, her constant helpfulness and her perseverance in the face of such conditions. All of us who use the Post Office will miss her.

I know that it is a worrying time when rural post offices are under review and the Parish Council is seeking information from Post Office headquarters about the future of our post office. We want Wendy replaced and the future of  the Bawdeswell Post Office assured.

John Mallen, Chairman Bawdeswell Parish Council
